Rachel Smiles was written in 2002, just two short years following Rachel’s death at Columbine.  It chronicles a multitude of things that happened as a result of her death and the Columbine tragedy.  It is geared more for a Christian audience and does have elements of her faith and some of her writing that we do not use in our public school presentations.

It reveals the beginnings of the school programs and how her story has reached people, even in remote places such as prisons.  David Berkowitz, known as the mass murderer, Son of Sam, met with Rachel’s dad and revealed how her story had helped change his life behind prison bars.

The copies you purchase have been greatly discounted because of being dated and some of the copies have pages that have been slightly discolored from age, but every book is new in the sense that it has never been owned by anyone else.  These copies have been in storage for 18 years.  When they are all gone, there will be no more.

Beautiful
Well written book. It is truly awesome how the little things we do touch the lives of others, and then others. This little girl made love, compassion, forgiveness and other attributes her code of life and in doing so, she not only touched the lives of many but continues to touch the lives of people who read about her. I wish I had been as wise as her in my teen years! I think this book, along with all the books written about Rachel Joy Scott should be required reading in Junior High School, when our little 'cliques' begin to form. Unfortunately, I realize this is not possible since the book mentions Christianity and faith. I think it would be wise of parents to require this book be read during summer break of the year the parents believe their child is at the appropriate reading level. Your child can make a difference in the world!
